About this tool

A Caesar cipher (or ROT) shifts each letter in the alphabet by a fixed number of positions. ROT13 (shift of 13) is a well-known simple obfuscation method that is its own inverse.

Common use cases

  • Lightly obfuscate spoilers, answers or sensitive notes in plain text
  • Experiment with classical substitution ciphers
  • Quick reversible transformation for puzzles or demos
